Protocol of KIELER Meeting on 24.07.09
What did you do last week?
- Hauke: SyncCharts: Regions only draw needed borders and extend themselves to whole available space. Also updated meta model.
- Problem: Manual layouting is tedious because new regions get no space but lie on top of others.
- Solution: Only extend regions when automatic layout is activated.
- Problem: Sometimes it's hard to see regions when they do not draw borders and do not completely fill the available space.
- Solution: Draw left and top borders if neighbor regions are too far away.
- Problem: How to automatically make regions smaller when parent state is made smaller?
- Solution: Calculate bounding box of content of every region. (quite expensive)
- Christian M.: Extended Execution Manager with several small improvements. (Didn't get'em all, sorry.)
- Question: Should the problem view or error log be used for errors in Execution Manager?
- Answer: Neither. Show new 'show status' dialog instead.
- Currently the active view becomes error log when error occurs.
- Stefan: Learned for exam (No need to feel bad, it's alright.).
- Özgün: Was looking forward to the meeting (YAY!). Incorporated changes into grammar that were decided. Also tested an example with it.
- Question: Will there be a usability review?
- Answer: Not planned, but nice idea. Also a grammar review would be nice.
- Micha: Added configuration file where some things can be specified that cannot automatically be incorporated in the auto build
- Now the combined diagram and model file also works. (Just a flag that needed to be set.)
- Hauke: Whoa, sounds quite advanced! Wanna see!
- Micha: Sure, no problem. Next week.
- Matthias: Corrected study thesis. Completed JavaDoc. And played Civilization.
- Christian S.: Learned for exams (You should really feel bad!).
- Nils: Did some things. (Sorry, I'm too slow.)
- Miro: Did XText. (Whatever that means.) Had some painful experiences with Google Juice.
- Question: What was Google Juice again?
- Answer: It uses Java tags to indicate that, ... uh, fields have to be injected?
- Question: What?
- Answer: Well, its quite hard to understand. The documentation is too bad. Will tell Google people to improve it.
- Regarding XText: TMF XText and oaW XText are very different in runtime. Also only few documentation.
- Suggestion: Go to official newsgroup to get help.
- Claus: Wrote producer for Execution Manager.
More topics or Questions?
- Miro: Who is the provider of our plugins? Christian-Albrechts-UniversitÄT ZU Kiel or ...-UniversitY OF Kiel?
- Hauke: Everybody writes the name in own language. Let's do that, too.
- Question: Are there problems with the 'Ä'?
- Answer: Sometimes, but not too big.
- Question: What's written in the license text?
- Answer: UniversitY OF Kiel.
- Suggestion: Let's ask Prof. if we can't decide.
- Decision: Let's use original German name. Also change license and other files.
- Question: Shouldn't we name the department also in German then?
- Answer: Whoa, that's too complicated. Let's keep the license in English and write the provider name in German.
- Decision: Ok.
- Question: Next week is Galileo release. Will we make it in time?
- Answer: ... <silence> ... Özgün: ... yaaaayyy. Miro: I'm not here next week.
- Question: Things to do until the release?
- Answer: Splash Screen, GraphViz (That's not too much. If Prof. does not get finished with Splash Screen stuff, we'll use a dummy screen.)
