KIELER Meeting 2010-11-24
attendees: rvh, soh, msp, jes, chsch, haf, cmot, ckru, uru, msch
All KIELER people should be at the meeting! (eg. mri, pkl, ybe)
Release
- 6 weeks late
- still problems with KEX
- preview image is scaled down quite ugly
- maybe pkl one month hiwi (cmot asks him)
- memory problems due to the fact that eclipse cannot dynamically increase it (mac). msp and chsch will dig into it.
- hopefully can announce new release at synchronous workshop
Xtend
- chsch found out
- new editor with the next eclipse release
- only one editor for xtext xtend and xpand
Ptolemy
- haf does some stuff, will show next week
KIEM
- new buttons for execution (see some earlier meeting)
- maybe use view management
Menges
- chsch added graphical syntax to textual syntax
- current problem: images exist but are not really integrated
- so in future they should be synchronized, e.g. selecting a transition should highlight corresponding element in the image
- railway guys differentiate in use cases. therefore hard to find the state charts
- haf suggests the old idea of a generic model viewer --> split everything in small chunks and resolve them as small ticket
- msp: view does not need to be unique
- jes: in uml all different diagram types are views on the same model, so maybe use papyrus for it?
- but it is no real uml! just using the syntax for "wenn-dann" diagramm
- rvh dislikes the papyrus uml state chart editor (no splines, haptics are strange)
- synccharts is probably better! but is it ok that it is a different semantic?
- or use graphs editor with advanced rendering
- but problem with KAOM is that it is not perfect yet and is dangling between gmf and grafiti
- rvh proposes to use different editors for the graphical models
- integrate mmu's spline connection into karma and make sure to be able to switch it on and off
General
- haf: we need better specifications of what is a "pretty" diagram
