wiki:Ticket_System

If you need help from the System Administrator , there are two options:

  • If the sysadmin happens to be around and the problem seems rather small, ask him whether the problem/demand in question can be resolved rightaway.
  • If that does not work, you should write a "ticket", as explained below.

Apart from writing tickets, you could/should communicate requests through other channels as well, eg, mention the problem during the morning tea session, or stop by the admin's office. However, to help everybody keep track of which requests are pending, you should still issue a ticket in any case, and it is your responsibility to do so.

About the use of the ticket system:

  • To issue a ticket, just use the ticket system included in the Rtsys Group Wiki. As usual, you can use the subject line as a brief explanation, and the body of the msg for more detailed explanations.
  • The admin will track the state of the ticket in Trac. If there is no feedback at all for a couple of days, you should pester the sysadmin again :-)
